How can we increase our contributions to the online learning field when our staff is working at max capacity? As a team of six, full-time, instructional design and development (IDD) staff, having a greater reach across campus is a challenge while also handling the complete production of 10 to 12 courses a semester.
Although the answer is never simple, we know for certain our office goal is to support students through our work with faculty and the more faculty we assist in preparing and facilitating quality online courses, the more of a mark we make on the student experience.
The fast track approach using templates and tech support has allowed our office to help more faculty in shorter amounts of time than our traditional, four-month full service approach. How does your school handle the time crunch? Share your experience in the comments.
